This is based on the current recommendations from Kenya, Australia, UK and the USA, and the availability of vaccines and combination vaccines in Kenya in November 2007.

If parents or patients prefer, most doctors/surgeries will follow the schedule from their country of origin.This may not always be possible because some vaccines or vaccine combinations may be unavailable in Kenya.

Other vaccinations that may be considered are meningococcal, pneumococcal, hepatitis A, influenza, typhoid, yellow fever and rabies vaccines.

Immunisation is not a simple subject and recommendations vary from country to country and are constantly changing. Ask your doctor for more information.

DTaP – Diphtheria, tetanus & pertussis (whooping cough)
Hib – influenza
IPV – injectable polio vaccine
PCV – pneumococcal vaccine
